I was born in England, grew up on the prairies of Alberta, and now live on the East Coast of Canada. Also a writer and poet, my work is inspired by place and my relationship with it. I was first introduced to photography when, as a child, I was given a Brownie camera. With never enough money to buy film, I nonetheless spent hours out on the prairie ‘taking’ photos. My love of photographic imagery was re-visited when at university I took a black-and-white photography class that resulted in some of my work (a photo study of my two boys) being included in a group exhibition.
In later years, one of those same photos was chosen for a group exhibition at another university.

My photography has won several awards
I have broadened my ‘eye’ by exploring digital photo-artistry, which allows me to explore my creativity more fully in the rendering of my images; and assists in my search for the essence of place.

This site is a photo study, consisting of photos of my sons, rescued from very old slides and negatives I had forgotten existed. To see my recent work, please visit www.seekingsoulsphotography.com
